Reflection

I was asked to redesign internship course materials for K-12 Principals and Special Education Directors at Minnesota State University Mankato State in two specific areas:

1. Clarify roles and responsibilities of intern and internship supervisor to maximize the experience for both participants
2. Create materials to help interns be more self-directed in managing their time, selecting appropriate activities to gain experiences in the K-12 competency areas, and facilitate check-in meetings with their intern supervisor.

I spent an expansive amount of time researching administrative licensure programs at other local and national universities.  A wealth of information was gained through this process with additional strategies to enhance the interns internship experiences. It was an honor to assist in redesigning the process to increase clarity and empower interns ability to be self-directed.  I received feedback from Dr. Raskin that this has been the most prepared class she has had.
